Daily Report - January 30, 2010

Highlights

Extragalactic Scienc

* PKS 0402-362 (z=1.417) is bright (daily flux (1.12 ± 0.28)E-6, TS=80, and about 1.4 in a 6h interval). Data from DRP (source not found by pgwave in daily interval). We can wait tomorrow to see if this brightening is confirmed and continuing and therefore it deserves an ATel.
* PMN J2345-1555 (LAT ATel #2408) fading at about 0.3E-6
* PKS 0426-380 (LAT ATel#2366) at about 0.6E-6
* 3C 454.3 at about 3.5E-6
* GB6 J1604+5714 and PKS 0521-36 not detected today.

Daily Report - January 29, 2010

Highlights

Extragalactic Science

* A couple of "almost new entries" in daily LAT sky: GB6 J1604+5714 and PKS 0521-36.
* PKS 0521-36 (aka 1H 0515-363, 3EG J0530-3626, LAT EMS0354 not in BSL, BZU J0522-3627, classified in different subclasses BLLac/FSRQ/Sey1/FRII, z=0.055, well visible host galaxy, radio-optical jet, source of possible interest for TeV telescopes), popped up with daily flux about 0.7E-6, phot. index around 2. Seen also in 6h intervals. In previous months detected on daily/weekly timescale only on Aug.2009.
* GB6 J1604+5714 (aka 6C B160335.0+572233, CGRaBS J1604+5714, BZQ J1604+5714, z=0.720) at about 0.65E-6.

Daily Report - January 27, 2010

Highlights

Extragalactic Science
- Flare of PMN J2345-1555 (also know as IVS B2342-161 and 1FGL J2344.6-1554, z=0.621) a FSRQdisplaying a parsec-scale radio structure dominated by a compact core (MOJAVE source), typical for a faint blazar. Daily flux (1.0 ± 0.2) x 10-6 (statistical only) photons cm-2 s-1, representing a factor of about 25 times the averaged flux reported in the 1FGL catalog, and photon index 2.0 ± 0.1. Increased gamma-ray activity observed from January 20. ATel is to be submitted.
- PKS 0537−441 is back with daily flux about 0.4E-6.
- 3C 454.3 daily flux about 3.2E-6.

Daily Report - January 26, 2010

Highlights

Extragalactic Science

-PKS 0244-470 (0FGL J0245.6-4656) at 0.54E-6 ± 0.11E-6. Not so much for an ATel but this seems a "rare" source on ASP (detected on daily timescale only a couple of days at the end of Nov. 2008). Uncertain blazar type with only radio-band knowledge.
-PMN J2345-1555 (CGRaBS J2345-1555, BZQJ2348-1631, 0FGL J2345.5-1559, z=0.621) popped up too (daily flux about 0.6E-6).
-PKS 0402-362 (LAT ATEL #2402) fading with daily flux about 0.4E-6.
-S5 0716+71 with daily flux about 0.4E-6 (on the average of detections).
-3C 454.3 with daily flux about 6E-6.
-Mkn 421 about 0.2E-6

Galactic Science

-Recurrent galactic plane source ASP J185300+011500 (EMS1267, EMS1266, and 3EG J1856+0114, within 1 deg) daily detection with flux about 4E-6.
Usual pulsars.

Daily Report - January 25, 2010

Highlights

Extragalactic Science

* After a fast check seems there is not any detection on weekly timescale and there is not any photon count excess on weekly timescale (ASP week 083 Jan.18-24) in the position reported in the AGILE's ATEL #2403.
* Brighest and flaring blazars of this day are 3C 454.3 (daily flux around 5E-6) and PKS 0402-362 (LAT ATEL #2402, daily flux 1.33 ±0.24), detected also in almost all the 6h intervals.
* Quasi-detection of PKS 2201+171 (TS=23) and PKS 2345-16 (TS=22) both with daily flux around 0.4E-6.

Galactic Science

* EMS0667 well detected as ASP J101714m590136 (TS=45, daily flux above 2E-6), is PSR J1028-5819 ?
* Usual pulsars, and W28 detected.
